Godwinks become contagious
One of the unexpected joys I get from writing this blog are the wonderful conversations, emails, and notes I receive when people share the Godwinks in their lives. I get so excited when I hear other people sharing that their eyes are open to Godwinks and hear the eagerness in their voice as they share. When I started writing, I prayed that I would reach just one person with my writing. That someone, somewhere, would become passionated about God by hearing how God has and continues to work in my life. I never imagined the stories I would hear or how word would be spread. I never imagined how others would become bold in their faith and begin to share their stories, their testimonies, and their Godwinks. Peter encouraged early Christians and his words are relevant today, “Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. ‘Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander” (1 Peter 3:13-16, NIV). What better way to bring others to Christ than to share the hope we have in Him?
Our family is undergoing a lot of change. We are leaving the home that has been all the girls have known for their entire lives and the longest place Rob and I have ever lived-almost 20 years. It wasn’t an easy decision, but one that I have full confidence God has been directing every step of the way. We are excited about our new home and looking forward to this next phase. We have taken every step with mixed of emotions of sadness and anticipation. In the midst of all this, I received a not from a coworker wanting to share her Godwink. We finally connected and she shared that she was going through a similar transition and the land they purchased had a home that was set on it that they were saddened they would need to demolish to build new. She struggled with the thought of destroying this historical property and it weighed heavily on heart as she was having a sale to clear the property. Someone came up to her and asked what the plans were for the existing home and she shared the intent to demolish and the person shared they thought they may know someone who would want the home. As that person left to validate their assumption, another group came in 15 minutes later and randomly (not random) asked her if she needed a house mover? The individual was interested in the home, and the mover was able to move the home. The additional Godwink? The mover was the person that moved the house on the property originally. Never a coincidence when all the pieces fall in place in the perfect time. Never a coincidence when all the “needed” people end up in the same place.

Today, I pray that you not hesitate to share the Godwinks in your life-no matter how small. I pray that you see God moving in your lives and the you be willing and open to share it with others.
