Victory to those anointed

I have a dear friend that reminded me once to speak prayers of praise and thanksgiving, to speak glory into being. I shared that once with a friend in need, and her prayers were answered three times over. I sat back and thought through so many of my blog posts and the stories of survival, perseverance, and miracles. God is and continues to be present in our everyday lives, and for that I am thankful. It is so easy to dwell in the darkness and become overwhelmed with all the chaos that goes on around us, but God is still present. I used to read miraculous stories in the Bible, but I never thought there could still be miracles today…until I was healed, until I saw others healed. We are not so different than the Israelites that wandered for forty years. They saw miracle after miracle yet still struggled to obey and believe. How thankful are we that God gave us Jesus so that our sins may be forgiven, so that we have hope in Him.

I was drawn to these verses tonight, “The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm” (Psalms 20:6-8, NIV). It is our trust in the Lord that gives us victory. It is not in our own strength, our own understanding, it is in our belief in Him.

I remember Rob sharing in his last tour that prior to every mission, his team would bow their heads in prayer. We have the best equipment, and the best military in the world; the modern chariots and horses. How powerful is it that this entire team, with the best equipment, began every mission in prayer. I see it everywhere. I see athlete start and end their games kneeling in prayer. I hear astronauts coming home from the most amazing mission thanking God in prayer. Don’t be blinded by the enemy. Seek first your victory in prayer and then “rise up and stand firm”.

Today, I pray that you not find your days darkened with the unknown and the evil that is present. Open your eyes to God’s presence here on earth. Pray in victory as one of His anointed and rise up.

I pray my words spoke to you and that you help spread God’s word and share with a friend. Don’t miss a blog, subscribe to my web page.
