When you say yes, you say no

This has been repeated throughout this week in multiple encounters. When you say yes to something, you are saying no to something else. Even more applicable, when you say yes to anything that is outside God’s will, you are saying no to God. “Be very careful, then, how you live- not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is (Ephesians 5:15-17, NIV). How many times have you felt pressured to say yes to a request only to immediately regret that response before it has fully left your lips? How many times have you said yes out of obligation or duty, but lacked the sincerity in the yes? How many times has your yes limited someone else’s yes? That has been this week!
