Let's get started

I remember the day my husband asked me what I wanted to do for me...I had been struggling with connecting and feeling a bit lost. As he asked me the question, I scrolled through the multiple ideas that popped in my mind. Every idea was related to what my children needed, what I thought my husband needed, what the military needed, and the list went on. The only item missing from the list was what I needed, what I wanted...that was a blank. Somewhere along the way, I lost me.

A few things happened right after that conversation that started the journey that put me on this blog. My husband Rob reminded me that I always dreamed of writing, why not write? At work the following week, we were introducing a new team and all shared something someone didn't know about us, and a new co-worker shared that he was a published author. I was intrigued. We chatted and soon after, signed up for a local writing workshop and he offered to introduce me to his editor. And so it began! My first short story was published- not a paying gig, but amazing to see my words in print. We became accountability partners for writing and eventually submitted items to Guidepost and before we knew it, we were now paid authors!

And now I am here. I continue to dig deeper in the Bible and have started taking theology courses (back to school!) I had a coworker ask me at the beginning of the year to send a text daily to remind her to pray and study the Bible. I knew it would be good for me as well as her. Our little chat group has continued to grow and we have found common ground in our shared joys, trials, and life in general! Today, I hope to spread God's word and pray that my thoughts find a way to encourage others and to bring us all closer to God. We are called to bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord has blessed us (Deuteronomy 16:17)...this is my gift I am sharing with you and I am richly blessed! Happy reading.

And you had me in the first paragraph… To be a woman, wife, mother – and struggle to find yourself; it’s our strength and our vulnerability. You are always so brave! When you want something, you do it. I know this will inspire me… As you always have. I love you, thank you.

Cristina I’ve enjoyed your Godwinks Blog. I’m not at all surprised by your writing abilities and how you bring your life experiences and relate them to how God has worked and changed your life. God’s peace be with you!
